15th FINA World Championships in Barcelona, Spain. Event date: Friday 19th July 2013 to Sunday 4th August 2013  

Event locations:  There are four main venues for swimmings championships:

World Swimming Championships

15th Fina World Championships 2013 Barcelona Spain. El Mundial de Natació. Barcelona hosts the World Swimming Championships for two weeks in 2013. 2500 athletes from a record 181 nations will compete for 63 gold medals.

The World Swimming Championships Open Ceremony "Dreams of Water" is on Friday 19th July at the Palau Sant Jordi arena at 21.45/p.45pm and will feature hundreds of participants, a specially composed soundtrack and a human tower display from the Castellers de Barcelona. Don't miss it! Tickets here.

The FINA World Championships or "World Aquatics Championships" are the World Championships for the aquatic sports of diving, swimming, open water swimming, synchronized swimming and water polo. During this event Barcelona will welcome thousands of swimmers and spectators from around the globet to stage best World Championships in history in Barcelona. Barcelona also hosts the Planet Water event. The competition takes place at Palau Sant Jordi arena for swimming and synchronised swimming. The Bernat Picornell City Sports Center Pools Centre Esportiu Municipal Bernat Picornell will host the waterpolo events. Springboard diving will be at Montjuïc Municipal Pool Piscina Municipal de Montjuïc

The open water long distance swimming events of 5k, 10k and 25k are in the Port Vell harbour on a 2.5km circuit without waves or currents starting from the Moll de la Fusta (wood wharf) Admission to the open water events is free.

High Diving Barcelona
14 high divers from 8 countries will compete at 2013 World Swimming Championships in the World Championship High Diving Finals in Barcelona which are included in the World Swimming Championships for the first time. The field includes the top 5 divers from the 2012 Red Bull High Diving World Series, 7 divers who qualified at the cliff diving event in Sydney in January 2013 and two wild cards. A 27 meter high diving platform will be erected by the Moll de la Fusta, by the open water swimming events area.

The male divers are Garry Hunt (Great Britain) Orlando Duque (Colombia) Steve LoBue (USA) Artem Silchenko (Russia) David Colturi (USA) Jonathan Paredes (Mexico) Michael Navratil (Czech Republic) Blake Aldridge (Great Britain) Anatoly Shabotenko (Ukraine) Matt Cowen (Great Britain) Cyrille Oumedjkane (France) Jorge Ferzuli (Mexico) Kent Du Mond (USA) and Hassan Mouti (France.) 

The high divers will particpate in a two-day competition format with two dives in the qualification round (one freestyle) and three more dives in the final.The women’s divers will be from a 20m platform and the names will be announced in May.

Hotels 
Hotels near World Swimming Championships 2013 Barcelona. The main competition pools are on the Montjuic, where there is only 1 hotel, which is the five star Hotel Miramar. Most visitors and participents for this event should book hotels at Plaza Espanya which is within walking distance of the competition pools and has regular bus connections.
