How to get to this venueHow to get to Barcelona Olympic Stadium - Lluís Companys
The Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys (previously called Estadi Olímpic de Montjuïc) is the Olympic Sorts Stadium in Barcelona, Spain. The location is on Montjuic hill which overlooks Barcelona from the south of the city. If you are arriving to Barcelona by air, then you will probably pass Montjuic mountain on your way to the center of Barcelona. The stadium was originally built in 1927 for the 1929 Barcelona World Exposition and was renovated in 1989 to function as the main stadium for the 1992 Summer Olympic games. The Olympic stadium is named after the former president of the Generalitat de Catalunya called Lluís Companys i Jover. Companys was executed at the nearby Montjuïc Castle in 1940 by the regime of the Spanish dictator Franco.
Underground car park next to Olympic Stadium under Palau Sant Jordi arena: 5000 parking places. |
