New Years Eve Barcelona 2013. Happy New Year! Celebrate 2013 New Year in Barcelona at some of the best NYE Parties and events in Barcelona for NYE 2014. Find a list of top clubs and restaurants further down this page. There are no public fireworks displays in Barcelona on New Years Eve. Fireworks is not a Spanish or Catalan tradition on New Years Eve. Happy New Year is "Feliç Any Nou" in Catalan and "Feliz año nuevo" in Spanish. The 31/12 is called "nochevieja" or "Fin de Año" in Spanish and "Cap d'Any" in Catalan.

at top clubs and many top hotels offer New Year dinner among them usually Hotel Casa Fuster and Hotel Rey Juan Carlos and the Hotel Arts, Big New Year parties in Barcelona include the annual New Year Party at club Sala Razzmatazz and there is usually big New Year party called Noche Vieja Poble Espanyol at Barcelona's Spanish village on the plaza of Poble Espanyol.  Scroll down the page to find more new year parties in Barcelona

New Year parties in Spain are often called "cotillones de nochevieja." The Spanish word "cotillón" is the collective name for party paraphernalia like confetti, party horns, party hats and so on. You often see the word  "cotillón" on restaurants and club party posters. This means that New Year's party accessories are included in the ticket price.

Prices NYE Barcelona.
Some bars in Barcelona have free entrance on New Years Eve, but most clubs will charge an entrance fee. NYE party prices at bars and clubs vary from as low as €10 to € 40 for a club admission that includes cotillón (party hat etc) and copas (drinks). One, two or even three drinks are usually included in the entrance price. For gala dinner and party the prices range from €75 to €300 depending on the venue. It is always a good idea to book in advance. 

As mentioned most of the top Barcelona clubs and many top Barcelona hotels have a New Year Party or Dinner in Barcelona. We have listed a few below, but there are too many parties to list, so we suggest you contact the clubs directly on their websites, which you can find in our nightlife directory on BarcelonaYellow.com.  Please note that there is no central fireworks display in Barcelona for New Years Eve and fireworks are not really part of the New Year traditions in Barcelona. Many people in Spain watch the live New Year's TV broadcast at midnight from the central square in Madrid called "Puerta Del Sol in Madrid" and in Barcelona around 30.000 people gather on Plaza Catalunya at midnight but really only to celebrate the New Year with other people as there are no official events, although there will be some security and public toilets. Please note that on Plaza Catalunya that only plastic bottles and glasses and cans are allowed on Plaza Catalunya. Bottles and glasses made of glass will be confiscated by the police control. The Torre Agbar tower has a New Years light show at midnight, but without fireworks or music, so not very festive.

Other Spanish New Year traditions include wearing red underwear for luck and the most important Spanish New Year Tradtion is to eat twelve grapes just before midnight. Use fresh grapes or buy lttle tins with 12 grapes in. You eat one at a time at each chime of the clock as it counts down to midnight and then you toast with Cava!  The Barcelona Metro will be in operation all night on 31.12.2012. Please note that some of the clubs have a minimum age requirement of 21 years and some have a strict dress code, so for guys wear shirts and shoes and avoid t-shirts, shorts or trainers.
