Trabucaires - Catalan 'bandits'
Trabucaires are groups of Catalan 'bandits' in traditional costumes carrying a blunderbuss gun which is called "un trabuc" in Catalan. Trabucaires take part in Catalan festivals and shoot their blunderbuss gun in the air in parades but using blanks. The name "trabucaires" refers to a traditional Catalan term that historically referred to the people who used the firearms known as "trabucs" which are blunderbusses. A trabuc is a type of smoothbore firearm with a short, large-caliber barrel, often used for hunting or as a weapon in the 17th and 18th centuries. Trabucaires were typically associated with rural areas and were known for their marksmanship skills. According to wikipedia the name first appeared during the illegal war against the French Republic (1793-1795) Trabucaires are organised in a a 'colla dels trabucaires' and the colles are coordinated by the 'Coordinadora de Trabucaires de Catalunya.'
