Boadas Cocktail Bar Barcelona. Famous cocktail bar in Barcelona mostly for being the oldest cocktail bar in Barcelona and still retains the charm of days gone by. Boadas is probably also the smallest bar in Barcelona but is big on old world cocktail bar charm with bartenders in uniform shaking up the drinks and martinis.

It's a tiny bar with just one space and a submarine style restroom, so this is mostly for cocktail aficionados and historians who want the experience and to savour a glimpse of a world gone by.

Boadas was founded in 1933 by Cuban Miguel Boadas and is still run by his family. You can see his portraits in many original drawings and paintings on the walls. Miguel is reputed to have worked in Hemingway's favourite bar in Havana, the Floridita, which inspired him to open Boadas in Barcelona.

Try the daiquiris and mojitos. but be aware that cocktails average about 9 euros, so it is not cheap. But for a good drink in a civilised and authentic bar without tourist tat near Plaza Catalunya, then it's worth every penny.

Busy at the weekends due to fame and close proximity to Plaza Catalunya.
