7 Portes
7 Portes (7 doors) - restaurant Barcelona. Beautiful interior, attentive staff. Catalan cuisine. Catalan food cooked to perfection. The 7 Portes names comes from the doors to the seven dining rooms, which have different sizes for all types of events and groups. Originally called "Cafè de les 7 Portes," this establishment opened in 1836 so in 2011 they celebrate 175 years of excellence without ever closing for even 1 day.

'Restaurant de les 7 Portes' is a true classic among Barcelona's restaurants. It is in the "Pòrtics d'en Xifré" building which has been declared a national monument.

This building was incidentally, also the first place in Barcelona where running water was installed, and it was the back drop for the first photograph ever taken in Spain. 7 Portes is famous for Catalan cuisine with over 100 a la carte dishes. The speciality is paella parellada (all ingredients shelled and boned) but there are 11 different paella types to choose from.

Over 200.000 guests dine at 7 Portes every year making this a top choice with tourists and locals alike. Many world famous guests have dined here from Picsso to Peron to Robert De Niro and many many more.

The current owner is Paco Solé Parellada. Maximum capacity 300.
