This week long festival in the Gracia neighbourhood of Barcelona is on the 15th - 21st of August 2008. This is the biggest of the neighbourhoods festivals in Barcelona and basically one big street party.
Many streets in Gracia compete to wind the best decorated street award and there is live music, food and drink everywhere.
One of the most popular and festive events of the Festa Major is the Tabalada Infernal, the drum parade, where drummers from the colles de foc, fireworks groups, parade round Gracia's streets.
Tthe Correfoc is a popular light and fire event eagerly awaited by hundreds of spectators, who will be chased by groups of people with fireworks.
In addition, for all those people who like human castles, Gracia fills up with colles castelleres building human castles that are amazing to see live.
The final act of the festival is the Castell de Focs.
