The Gran Via exhibition centre of Fira Barcelona was designed by the Japanese architect Toyo Ito
It is also home to Gran Via Convention Centre, (Centre de Convencions Gran Via)
Gran Via M-2 is one of the most modern exhibition sites of Europe. It is located very close to the airport and it is only 2,5 km away of Montjuīc 1. It has a total surface of 166.000 m2, 76.000m2 of constructed surface and 40.000m2 of net surface of exhibition.
1.900 car parks and a great area for restaurants prepared for more than 6.000 daily services. These data complete the innovative infrastructure of Gran Via M-2.
When extension works are completed in 2009, the Gran Via exhibition centre will reach 240,000 m˛.
GETTING TO THE GRAN VIA EXHIBITION CENTRE:
The installations of Fira de Barcelona are very close to the airport, to the port and to the railway central station. The accesses by road to Barcelona and La Fira, are really easy by dual carriageways, motorways and rondas (a kind of dual carriageway) (Ronda Litoral, Ronda del Mig and Ronda de Dalt).
The public transports also allow visitors to arrive to the installations of Fira de Barcelona in a handy way and from any point of the city.
To arrive to Plaza Espaņa:
Underground: Pl. Espaņa, lines 1, 3 and Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat (Railway).
Bus: lines 9, 13, 27, 30, 38, 50 ,52 ,53, 55, 56, 57, 61, 65, 91, 109, 141, EA, EN, EB and Aerobús (from the airport).
From there, there will usually be transport made available by the exhibition organisers, to get you to the Montjuīc 2 exhibition site.
