Park Guell is an magical and innovative architectural park designed by Antoni Gaudí and situated on the hill of Carmel in the Gràcia district of Barcelona, Spain. The magic starts at the main entrance where you are greeted by the original fountain of one of Barcelona’s familiar symbols, the multi coloured mosaic lizard.

The rest of the park is a pleasure to visit. A rainbow of calm among by the many structures bearing motifs of catalanism, religion and poetry. From the central terrace sitting in one of the serpent benches, you can enjoy magnificent views of Barcelona.
Park Guell was constructed from 1900 to 1914 and is one of the seven works by the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the name "Works of Antoni Gaudí."
How to get there:
L3 Vallcarca Metro station is technically the nearest Metro stop to Parc Guell, and the route from the station to the park is well signposted, but you will have to walk a bit to get to the park ,and it is a steep climb even though there are outdoor escalators. Fun if you are fit. Hard if you are elderly or have trouble walking.
L3 Lesseps is about 1300 m from Park Guell, but a more leisurely walk and signposted.
By tourist bus.
If you are in the centre and it is summer then you could take the T2 Tibibus shuttle bus service which runs all day in a circular route from Plaza Catalunya (in front of Corte Ingles department store) with various stops along the way including Park Guell.
The T2 Tibibus only operates during the summer months when the Tibidabo park is open.
Another easy to get straight to Parc Guell is to take the city tourist bus, which stops at many sights in Barcelona including Parc Guel. This is a more expensive solution and is only worth it, if you want to see many sights, not just Park Guell
The park entrance is free, but the house that Gaudí lived in, which is now the Gaudi museum costs a small entrance fee of 4 euros in 2007.
