The information on this page is about the cable car on Montjuic mountain itself, which is called the "Teleferic de Montjuïc". It is a ski resort style 4 person gondola lift cable car, which transports visitors up the mountain to the old military fort on Montjuic. The cable car was renovated from 2004 to 2007.
To get to tbe cable car station you can take the buses 50, 55, or 61. Visit www.tmb.net for bus information. Or you can take funicular train up to the cable car station from the
metro station Parallel on Avinguda Paral·lel The funicular train ends opposite the Telefèric de Montjuïc cable-car station.
The Teleferic de Montjuïc cable car journey takes 8 minutes. The ride is 752 metres in length with an elevation of 85.5 metres.
There is room for 8 people in the new cars, which were installed in 2007 following the renovation of the system in 2004. The new gondola cars have ventilation and much better views of the city.
There is a midway stop at the "Mirador del Alcalde" observation deck

I travelled on this cable car last week (May 2009) while visiting Barcelona with my husband. it was one of the scariest things I've ever done but so worthwhile for the fantastic views right over the city. it was nerve-wracking facing the trip down again but again the views were worth it. I won't be doing it again!
I thought that the cable car was very good, i went as a school. There were 40 of us and it was very expensive, but it was worth the money. your on the cable car for about 5 minutes but the veiws are amazing and it's a good way to get to the castle at the top.I would recommend it to anyone wanting to see the veiws of barcelona.

Hi Tony. The T10 should be valid for the funicular from Parallel station, but not for the cable car up to Montjuic castle or the cable car from Montjuic to Barceloneta beach.
