You get many good guest reviews? How is that done?
Michael: One of the key factors to us to keep customers happy is our commitment to quality control. I would even call it a passion. For us quality control means paying attention to detail and making sure that everything thing about a WayToStay apartment works perfectly.
We have set our own quality standards to define the kind of top experience that we want WayToStay guests to have. Our quality standards cover everything in our apartments from the check-in to the welcome mat to the cleaning. Everything has to work. An apartment may be fabulous, but it still has to be cleaned and everything has to work.
An amazing view is wonderful, but you can’t eat it for breakfast, and so if the toaster doesn’t work the apartment doesn’t work either. Anyone can find a nice apartment, but quality control is about making sure everything works - all the time.
If apartments are not maintained to the proper standard by the owners, then they cannot be part of the WayToStay apartment network. We are not afraid to let a fabulous apartment go, if the owners cannot meet our quality standards.
Quintus: Another key factor is our advanced digital booking system, which we have developed in-house. When you book an apartment with WayToStay we confirm your booking the same day by email and sms.
When your payment is confirmed the booking is 100% guaranteed. You will not get a call later saying that your apartment was rented out to someone else, even though you already paid. The WayToStay system is designed to avoid double bookings and mix-ups.
Native product managers
Michael:To keep the quality exceptionally high WayToStay has in-house product managers for each city. They personally preview apartments, interview owners, select and monitor the rental flats in Barcelona and check customer evaluations on a daily basis to make sure everything from the check-in to check-out works impeccably.
The product managers quickly fix problems like cleaning or faulty appliances to make sure that the quality is never a problem for WayToStay clients. All clients are asked to complete evaluation emails after stays in a WayToStay apartment and the response is overwhelmingly positive.
Innovation
Quintus: WayToStay is always trying to improve our service by adding new features like for example our new additional cleaning service during a stay, which can be now be requested online. And our last minute offers. The Internet is an area where we are constantly investing to make sure that we can offer new and exciting services to new guests.

The management team behind WayToStay is of Dutch origin but they came together in Barcelona to forge an alliance of skills into a apartment company that is a leader in the field.
Michael: I think that this kind of business where attention to details, structured systems and so on is a good business for Dutch people. As a small country the Netherlands has a strong tradition for the logistics business in transport, trade.
Quintus: We also enjoy different cultures and languages and being in an international environment. So Barcelona is perfect for us as a base and a great place to find a high level international staff like ours.
