Barcelona Bike Week 2010

Event location:  Various locations in Barcelona

Full week of bike related activities in Barcelona. The slogan for 2010 is "Agafa la bici. Compartim cívicament la ciutat" (Take the  bike. Let's share the city in a civic spirit). This year 24 km will be added to Barcelona's network of cycle lanes making a total of   170.8 km. BCN bike week activities are free and usually include daily evening bike rides with a free bike if you don't have one, free ITB bike check-up and many activities for children. Every day during Barcelona Bike week you can usually borrow a bicycle free between 10.00 and 19.00 from the organisations "Un Cotxe Menys" which means "one car less" in Catalan. Collect your bike on the street Carrer de l'Esparteria, 3 in the Born area of Barcelona near Barceloneta. The Barcelona bike week ends at the weekend with a 2 day Barcelona Bike Show at Parc del Forum and the Bike and Skate Party fun ride through Barcelona on Sunday. You can usually borrow a free bike (while stocks last) on Plaza Catalunya in front of junction with C/ Bergera (where FNAC and Habitat shops are)  to join in the Bike and Skate Party Ride.

Description:
The Forum Park is a big area in Diagonal Mar neighbourhood in the district of Sant Marti. It was originally built for the "Universal Forum of Cultures" exhibition in 2004 and is now used for many annual vents and festivals in Barcelona. El Parc del Forum has a public swimming area open in the summer, and a yacht marina called Port Forum yacht marina
