The Catalonia History museum is housed in an former warehouse building in the Barcelona's Port Vell called the 'Palau de Mar' which was built in 1900.

The Palau de Mar is the only structure from of Barcelona's old port that is still standing. The marina is still called 'Port Vell' which means 'old port' in Catalan language. The warehouse was designed in 1881 by the engineer Maurici Garrán who was the first director of the Barcelona Port Board of Works

These exhibitions document historic events and also provide a fascinating insight into everyday life in times gone by using interactive and fun exhibits.
