Fundación Francisco Godia. Francisco Godia Foundation was established in 1999. It is a small and high quality museum located close to Plaza Catalunya between streets of Rambla Catalunya and Balmes. The Francisco Godia exhibits a permanent collection of paintings, medieval sculpture and ceramics collected by businessman, racing driver and art collector, Francisco Godia. There are approximately 1,500 pieces on display including paintings, sculpture, glasswork and pottery making it one of the largest private collections in Spain of Catalan, Spanish and international art from the 12th to the 21st centuries. The collection includes works by artists such as Jaume Huguet, Lluís Borrassé, Llorenç Saragossa, Martín de Soria, Felipe de Bigarny, Alejo de Vahía, Pedro Berruguete, Juan van der Hamen, Francisco de Zurbarán, Joaquín Sorolla, Ramon Casas, Santiago Rusiñol, Joaquim Mir, Isidre Nonell, Julio González, Pablo Picasso, Juan Gris, Joan Miró, René Magritte, Fernand Léger, Karel Appel, Antoni Tépies, Eduardo Chillida, Miquel Barceló and Cristina Iglesias. The Francisco Godia Foundation is housed in a wonderful house called the Casa Garriga Nogués and was built by architect Enric Sagnier who was one of the most prolific architects in the Eixample neighbourhood of Barcelona.
