Trabucaires - Catalan 'bandits'
Trabucaires are groups of Catalan 'bandits' in traditional costumes with a blunderbuss gun called "un trabuc" in Catalan. They take part in many Catalan festivals and use their blunderbuss gun to shoot in the air at the start of festivals or in parades. They only fire blanks though. According to wikipedia the name first appeared during the illegal war against the French Republic (1793-1795) Trabucaires are organised in a a 'colla dels trabucaires' and the colles are coordinated by the 'Coordinadora de Trabucaires de Catalunya.'
