Jean Bouin run Barcelona. Annual running even in Barcelona end of November. One of Spain's oldest athletics races. The Jean Bouin has 13 races of various categories and distances - including several for participents with disabilities. The biggest race is the Cursa Open, the Open Race. The Jean Bouin run was started in Barcelona in 1920 by a group of journalists and sports promoters, who were passionate about athletics, called Josep Anton Trabal, Lluís Meléndez and Rossend Calvet. Date Cursa Jean Bouin

The event is named after the legendary French athlete, Jean Bouin, who was the runner-up in the Stockholm Olympics of 1912 and the holder of various world records between 1911 and 1913. He was killed in action during the First World War.

There are usually around 5,500 places in the Jean Bouin run. Online registrations are open 6-8 weeks before the run and you usually register until midnight a week before the event. The race start area is usually at the Fira Montjuic near Plaza Espanya on Plaça Marquès de Foronda - Barcelona.
