Event date: Race start Wednesday 31st December 2014 Event finish: approx 90 days later Event location: Barcelona, Spain Barcelona World Race 2014. 3rd edition of the Barcelona World Race, which is a double-handed, non-stop round the world race. This round the world sailing event will be raced over the classic, east-about non-stop route around the world via the three great Capes, onboard IMOCA Open 60 monohulls. Eight yachts take part in the 2014 Barcelona World Race. The Barcelona World Race takes place every 4 years. The Barcelona World Race jetty near the Columbus Monument is open to the public every day from 10am to 8pm. It is a floating jetty, where you can see the eight IMOCA 60 boats are and see the teams make final preparations and nearby you can visit the Barcelona World Race Area. Results of 2nd edition of Barcelona World Race 2010/11 Jean-Pierre Dick and Loïck Peyron who won the second edition of the Barcelona World Race on Virbac-Paprec 3, completing the 25,200 miles round the world race in 93 days, 22 hours, 20 mins and 36 seconds at an average speed of 11.18 knots. © Copyright Barcelonayellow.com.
