La Patum de Berga Festival. Berga's traditional festival is called "La Patum." The main Patum celebrations last for 5 days. They start on Wednesday and end on the Sunday of Corpus Christi week. UNESCO has declared the Fiesta of La Patum de Berga a 'Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity'. Patum is the most important festival in Berga, with more than 600 years of history. It is always celebrated during the Corpus Christi festival. As a festival of the Easter cycle, Corpus Christi is a moveable feast. 

The La Patum de Berga dance and the fire are the most characteristic part of the Patum festival which also has parades and street shows. The Patum festival dates back to the Middle Ages and features Turcs i Caballets (Turks and Horses), Maces (devils holding maces), Guites (dragons), Àliga (Eagle), Nans Vells (Old Dwarves), Gegants (Giants) and Nans Nous (New Dwarves). Fire and dance plays a central role in the festival. The Patum festival highlight is the 'full Patum'called 'Patum Completa' in the Catalan language which is usually at 9.30pm on the Thursday and Sunday of Corpus Christi period. It features the 'salto de plens' which are fire devils jumping to the rhythm of music.
