Free registration. Barcelona's biggest 10k run. The Cursa El Corte Inglés route starts and ends at Plaza Catalunya as usual. Our best wishes for a great run and good weather to all runners. The Cursa El Corte Inglés is an annual spring 11k run. It is Barcelona's most popular running event and one of the biggest running events in Europe. The all time record number of runners in this run, which is also a Guiness World Record, was when the 1994 Cursa Corte Ingles registered an amazing 109.457 runners. The Cursa Corte Ingles has been run by many famous people over the years including cyclist Miguel Indurain, the late Johan Cruyff, Ronald Koeman, Pete Sampras, basketball player Magic Johnson, the late opera star Montserrat Caballé, Basketball player Pau Gasol, Tennis player Rafael Nadal, Footballers Eto'o, Leo Messi and many more. The Cursa Corte Ingles takes its name from and is organised by department store El Corte Ingles. This run is part of the annual BCN10k challenge. How to get to Plaça de CatalunyaOpen map Plaza Catalunya in FULL SCREEN Plaza Catalunya is Barcelona's central square and the center of downtown Barcelona. This is the most central place to stay in Barcelona and close to transport connections and many Barcelona sights and attractions. Plaza Catalunya was designed by architect Francesc de Paula Nebot. The square was inaugurated on November 2nd 1927 by Spanish King Alphonso XIII.
