Where is Picasso buried?

Pablo Picasso is buried in the gardens of the Château of Vauvenargues which was his last home in France. The Château of Vauvenargues is a fortified bastide (country house) in the village of Vauvenargues to the north of Montagne Sainte-Victoire, just outside the town of Aix-en-Provence in the south of France.

Pablo Picasso died on Sunday April 8, 1973 in Mougins, France from pulmonary edema (fluid in the lungs) and heart failure, while he and his wife Jacqueline entertained friends for dinner. Pablo Picasso was 91 years old when he died.

Jacqueline or Jacqueline Roque (born 24 February 1927 - died 15 October 1986) was the second wife of Pablo Picasso. Their marriage lasted 11 years until his death. During their time together he created over 400 portraits of her, which more than any of Picasso's other loves or muses.

Pulmonary edema is a condition caused by excess fluid in the lungs. This fluid collects in the air sacs of the lungs and makes it difficult to breathe. Heart problems are often the cause of pulmonary edema.

Jacqueline Picasso was Picasso's second wife and they were married for 11 years until his death in 1973. During their marriage Picasso created over 400 portraits of Jacqueline Picasso,  which was more than any of Picasso's other loves and muses. They married in 1961 and she was 47 at the time of his death.

Picasso had four children. A son, Paulo Picasso, with his first wife, Russian dancer Olga Khoklova; a daughter,  Diana Widmaier-Picasso with Marie-Thérèse Walter, and a son and daughter, Claude Picasso and Paloma Picasso, with Françoise Gilot.
