Will I be able to see dolphins or whales in Barcelona?


It's highly unlikely. There are some dolphin pods in the The Mediterranean Sea and some whales, but very few compared to other coastlines and there are not enough to organise dolphin spotting tours or whale watching.

If you own a yacht and sail out from Barcelona then you can be quite lucky and sometimes see a few dolphins and even more rarely a whale, but it is rare. Usually a whale sighting even makes the local news.

You can see a variety of fish if you go snorkeling or diving on the Costa Brava coast which is 1.5 hours north of Barcelona by car.

So for dolphins and whales there are other better places in the world to see them. Here are the top Barcelona sights you can see.
