Is Barcelona a safe city? 


Yes, Barcelona is a fairly safe city in terms of dangerous and violent crime.  See separate article regarding the Coronavirus Barcelona.

Violent crime is rare although like any other city there are incidents of robbery with violence.

Spain is generally ranked in the top 20 of international surveys of the safe or dangerous countries for visit.

Barcelona does, however, have a very high rate of petty crime mostly pickpocketing and bag-snatching of tourists.
