What to pack for a visit to Barcelona in February?

We recommend that you pack and wear warm winter clothes in Barcelona in February.

The weather in Barcelona in February can vary a lot. Average Barcelona air temperatures in the shade in February are from 14C/57F during day to 7C/45F at night

February can feel warm and mild if the sun is out and if the weather is calm, but can also be very chilly at night, so it’s generally a good idea to plan to wear warm clothes and de-layer if necessary.

Bring a small and light backpack to carry jackets that you take off if the weather feels too warm

We would not bother to pack shorts and short skirts in February as you will only get a couple of hours of mild weather at mid-day.

Generally, we recommend that you pack a warm jacket or fleece, long trousers or skirt and a sweater or cardigan.

Also please remember that it is usually much colder inland and at higher altitudes, so you have booked Barcelona day tours to places like Montserrat mountain or Andorra, then pack cap and gloves too.

For Andorra snow tours bring warm winter boots too, because they could be a lot of snow in the mountains and sub-zero temperatures in February

Is there a dress code for Barcelona night clubs?

Top Barcelona night clubs and have a strict dress code, so pack nice shoes, long trousers and a nice shirt or polo-shirt for the men and something elegant for the ladies.

To buy winter sportswear for tours to the mountains, visit the Decathlon in the center of Barcelona - they have plenty of warm winter wear at good value prices.

If you need to buy something to wear that you forgot to pack at the last minute, then visit our Barcelona shopping guide where you can find tips on where to shop and where to find Barcelona malls in the city.

There are also two big Barcelona outlet shopping malls outside Barcelona city center.

For basic items like buying a last minute golf or polo shirt, a dress shirt or black shoes, then the most convenient place is probably El Corte Inglés department store which is on Barcelona's central square Plaça de Catalunya. El Corte Inglés has everything and has long opening hours until 10pm and a supermarket in the basement, also open late.
