Earth Hour Spain. Earth hour Barcelona. Hora del Planeta Barcelona. City landmarks and skylines go dark for one hour on Earth Hour to help conserve a bit of energy but more importantly raise awareness about climate change.

You can be part of it in Barcelona by switching off your lights between 20:30 and 21:30 pm for Earth Hour.

Many top cities around the world take including Barcelona. Barcelona symbolically switches off lighting on landmark buildings

In Barcelona the list includes the Torre Agbar, Santa Maria del Mar church, Montjuic castle, Sagrat Cor church on Tibidabo, Barcelona Cathedral, Sagrada Família, La Pedrera, Palau Nacional and Magic Fountain on Montjuïc, Barcelona City Hall and Generalitat building on Plaça Sant Jaume, Casa Batllo and La Pedrera on Passeig de Gracia and the Columbus monument among others. 

Nearly 2,000 cities in over 80 countries commit themselves to switching off the lights of their iconic buildings on Earth hour and many also have special events to highlight the event.  In Spain 125 towns and cities will participate. The WWF says that the earth hour is now the biggest global demonstration for change on carbon emissions, so spread the word and vsit the Spanish Earth hour website below to see list of buildings that support Earth Hour / Hora del Planeta in Barcelona.
