Escudella i carn d'olla is a tasty bowl of pasta shells - called 'galets' - in a meat and vegetable stew or soup. 

it's a typically served at Christmas and also sometimes called 'sopa de galets'. 

The word 'escudella' means bowl in the Catalan language.
