The Tour de France 2026 will start from Barcelona. Barcelona's hosts the iconic 'Grand Départ' and the first three stages of the world's most famous bicycle race will be in Catalonia, Spain from July 4 to 6, 2026. The Tour de France is an annual multiple stage bike race, which of course is mostly in France, but often begins, or has stages, in other countries. 

Barcelona has hosted stages of the Tour before, in 1957, 1965 and 2009, but has never hosted the first stage, the Grand Départ. The last time the Tour de France bike race had a stage in Barcelona was in 2009. The Catalan capital becomes third city in Spain to host a Grand Départ. the 2023 race started in Bilbao, in the Basque Country province of Spain, while the first time the race started in Spain was in San Sebastián in 1992. The 2026 route will feature two stages inside Catalonia and the start of a stage finishing on French soil.
