Els Quatre Gats
Els Quatre Gats Barcelona restaurant in gothic area famous for being Pablo Picasso's old hangout. The name means The four cats in Catalan (Los Cuatro Gatos in Spanish) and is a Spanish expression which means 'just a few people.' Els Quatre Gats was a favorite meeting place for artists in the beginning of the 20th century the most famous being Pablo Ruiz Picasso when was living in Barcelona. This restaurant hosted his first exhibition and he designed the menu.

The restaurant is in a modernist building constructed in 1897 by Josep Puig i Cadafalch. Els Quatre Gats is on a side street on the left off the pedestrian walking street Puerta del Angel just a short walk from Plaza Cataluna. If you are a modernist or Picasso fan then worth a visit.
