Sitges Carnaval 2018 dates are Thursday 8th February to Wednesday 8th March 2018. See programme Sitges Carnival 2018. This fabulous winter festival of parties and parades eclipses the Barcelona carnaval and is definately worth a visit for party lovers. There are several parades for all ages during carnaval week in Sitges.

Two of the most popular Sitges carnival parades are the evening procession with around 50 floats and 2 - 3,000 participants.

The 'Rua de la Disbauxa' - Debauchery parade starts at 7.30pm on Sunday 11th February 2018 usually from end of  Av. Sofia and then along Passeig de la Ribera on the waterfront to finish at Plaça Cap de la Vila.

The Rua de l’Extermini - Extermination parade starts at 9pm on Tuesday 13th February 2018 from end of Av. Sofia and then along Passeig de la Ribera on the waterfront to finish at Plaça Cap de la Vila.

Also great fun for spectators is the 1 km 'Dressed Up Bed Race' race - Llits Disfressats de Sitges on Saturday 10th February 2018 at 12.00

How to get to Sitges from Barcelona

Sitges is a popular and exclusive sea-side resort located about 45 kilometers south of Barcelona in Catalonia, Spain. Sitges is well known for the Sitges Film Festival in October and the Sitges Carnival in February. Sitges also offers visitors a very nice selection of beaches, nightspots, and historical sites.

Getting to Sitges from Barcelona

By car

The C-32 tollroad is the fastest way to drive to Sitges from Barcelona. It connects Sitges with Barcelona in 30 minutes. You can also take the free C31 coastal road, which is very scenic, but it has many bends and can be quite congested. Google map route Barcelona to Sitges

By bus

Bus company Mon-bus operates buses from Barcelona and from Barcelona airport to Sitges

By train

Sitges is under between 35 and 45 minutes from Barcelona by R2 south line train. The railway company is called Renfe. The trains connections are called Cercanias/Rodalies: The trains to Sitges are on the R2 south line which departs from stations in the center of Barcelona to outlying suberbs of Barcelona and towns nearby. Regional trains to Sitges leave every 15 minutes from various stations in Barcelona including Passeig de Gracia (currently undergoing renovation), Catalunya or Sants: Price for a return ticket around 10 euros.
