Catholics celebrate the feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary every year on August 15th to mark the assumption of Mary into Heaven which is, in the Catholic Church, Eastern and Oriental Orthodoxy, , the bodily taking up to heaven of the Virgin Mary at the end of her life on earth.

This is considered the biggest feast day of the Virgin Mother but there are no major celebrations of the Feast of the Assumption in Barcelona.
