How to get to Sitges from Barcelona

Sitges is a popular and exclusive sea-side resort located about 45 kilometers south of Barcelona in Catalonia, Spain.

Sitges is well known for the Sitges Film Festival in October and the Sitges Carnival in February and the Pride Festival in June.

Sitges also offers visitors a very nice selection of beaches, nightspots, and historical sites.

Getting to Sitges from Barcelona

By car

The C-32 tollroad is the fastest way to drive to Sitges from Barcelona. It connects Sitges with Barcelona in 30 minutes. You can also take the free C31 coastal road, which is very scenic, but it has many bends and can be quite congested.

By bus

Bus company Mon-bus operates buses from Barcelona and from Barcelona airport to Sitges

By train

Sitges is under between 35 and 45 minutes from Barcelona by R2 south line train. The railway company is called Renfe. The trains connections are called Cercanias/Rodalies: The trains to Sitges are on the R2 south line which departs from stations in the center of Barcelona to outlying suberbs of Barcelona and towns nearby. Regional trains to Sitges leave every 15 minutes from various stations in Barcelona including Passeig de Gracia (currently undergoing renovation), Catalunya or Sants: Price for a return ticket around 10 euros.

How to get to Sitges from Barcelona airport

The nearest airport to Sitges is Barcelona El Prat Airport

Bus company MonBus operates a bus service every 30 minutes from Barcelona airport to Sitges

The ticket price is €4.10 with €3 airport supplement

The MonBus bus stop is only at Airport T1 Terminal 1 - not at airport T2 Terminal 2

How to get from T2 terminal to T1
If you are arriving at Terminal 2 T2, then you need to take the free airport shuttle bus from terminal T1 to T2 to be able to connect to the Monbus bus to Sitges.

The free T1 > T2 bus runs every 7 minutes, 24 hours a day.  

At T2 terminal the terminal bus is located under the bridge outside T2B which will take you to T1.

The distance between the two Barcelona airport terminals is 4km and the shuttle bus journey time is 10-15 minutes.
