Foguerons de sa Pobla Gracia. The bonfires of Sa Pobla 2019 event takes place in the evening of 26th January 2018 on the plazas in the Gràcia neighbourhood of Barcelona. Bonfires are lit on 10 streets and three squares of the Vila de Gràcia area of the Gracia district.

The Sant Antoni bonfires is inspired by a Mallorcan celebration, originally from the town of Sa Pobla on the island of Mallorca, which made its way to Gracia in Barcelona, who know have made it their own.

It has taken place every January in Vila de Gràcia area of Gracia in Barcelona since 1992. This all came about thanks to Antoni Torrens, a native of Sa Pobla.

He started making a bonfire like those of Mallorca in the Plaza de Diamante in Gracia, so that his children, who studied in Barcelona, ​​could enjoy the Mallorcan festival. 

The Gracia locals took it to their hearts and it has grown ever since.

The Foguerons de sa Pobla - Gracia combines popular culture of Gràcia (castellers human towers, devils firerun, giants etc) with traditions from Sa Pobla like 'xeremia' music.

The xeremia is a type of bagpipe native to the island of Mallorca. It's a festive evening with big bonfires, music, roasting meat and dance!

Highlights include a parade from Pl Vila de Gracia to Plaça de la Virreina at 8.30pm and lighting of bonfires at 9.30pm.
