Gala Salvador Dalí. A Room of One’s Own in Púbol. Gala Dali exhibition at MNAC museum in Barcelona (Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya) from July to October 2018. Features 40 pieces from the Dalí Foundation and also surrealist works by Max Ernst, Picasso and Brassaï amongst others along with letters and personal objects to showcase the role of Gala as a muse for surrealist artists.

Gala Dalí (Born Elena Ivanovna Diakonova on 7th September 1894 died 10th June 1982) was born into a family of intellectuals in Kazan in Russia. She lived her childhood in Moscow. During a stay in Switzerland, she met Paul Éluard and moved to Paris with him, where she came in contact with members of the surrealist movement including Max Ernst. In 1929 she travelled to Cadaqués with Paul Éluard, where she met Dalí, whom she fell in love with. She left Éluard and stayed with Dalí. More about Gala Dalí
