Barcelona shop opening times


Most shops in Barcelona open at 09:30 to 10.00 in the morning. Barcelona shopping malls generally open at 10.00.

New! In 2022 from May 15th to September 15th 2022, shops in central Barcelona will be able to open every day including Sundays from 12 noon to 8pm. 

Big shopping brand chains and malls do not close for lunch, but smaller shops and shops outside the city centre often close for two hours during lunch hours.

Small shop owners can decide themselves when they want to close for lunch, so the lunch closing time can be 2 hours anytime in the period between 13.00 to 17.00 in the afternoon.

Many brand shops and malls are open on Saturday afternoons

Many shops and shopping centres and outlet shops in Barcelona are closed on Sundays, except for a number of special shopping days on some Sundays and public holidays during the year. And from from May 15th to September 15th 2022, shops in central Barcelona will be able to open every day including Sundays from 12 noon to 8pm. 

There is one shopping center in Barcelona, called MareMagnum in the Port Vell marina area of Barcelona, which is always open on Sundays - and there is a luxury outlet shopping mall called La Roca Village located 30 minutes by car outside Barcelona that is always open on Sundays.
